The Fera Flotation Filth test

The Fera flotation filth test was developed to identify animal matter (whole or fragmented mites and insects, and rodent hairs) in a wide range of food, feed, veterinary and dust samples. It is the most accurate and effective method of confirming the presence of mites, easily differentiating between live and dead mites.

The Fera Flotation Filth Test can be used to detect contaminants in the following sample types:

  • Pelleted animal feed and pet food
  • Dusts
  • Flour
  • Powdered foods
  • Seeds and grains
  • Dried fruits
  • Dried spices
  • Grass, hay and straw
  • Soil
  • Veterinary samples
  • Flower bulbs
